  • Because Honey, he is going to be anointing her. It is a sacrament that offers her strength, peace and courage.

  • Through this holy anointing may the Lord in his love and mercy help you with the grace of the Holy Spirit. May the Lord who frees you from sin save you and raise you up.
  • Why Would Someone Want to Participate in Anointing of the Sick? What are its Benefits?

  • oh darling, I feel not only at peace, but more stronger spiritually than ever. 
  • The sacrament of anointing the sick celebrates God's love and concern as it reassures us that God is with us and cares about our well being by helping to heal our mind, body and soul. It also celebrates the healing power of the faith community through the visitation of Priests, Pastoral ministers and volunteers to those who need them. Lastly, it celebrates hope through the resurrection and how suffering, illness and death are all a part of life.
  • Sacraments and rituals that can trace to anointing the sick are prayers and readings from the scriptures that focus on Jesus' healing action, Penitential rite, also known as reconciliation, which helps to heal our relationship with God as well as others. Anointing with oil on the forehead and hands by a Priest is another ritual. The forehead represents mental power, the hands symbolize physical strength and the oil is a symbol of the connection the church community. Lastly, to show a caring community and healing, the Priest and Holy Community may lay on their hands.
  • Someone would want to participate in anointing of the sick because it is a way to gain strength and courage as well as feel peace and hope during a rough time. This is not necessary just meant for someone who is old, anointing can be done before major surgeries or if you have a life-threatening illness at a young age. There are many benefits of getting anointed that include being more connected to God and have a cleansed mind, body and soul; it heals your spirit to allow you to go to heaven as pure as possible or filled with the holy spirit.
