  • Because there is no friction on the ice, I will continue to move unless acted upon by another force.
  • With the help of Newton's First Law, the hockey stick was able to push me along the ice, causing my position to change after being acted upon by and unbalanced force!

  • As the blue skater tries to move the puck along the ice, he is met by the gray skater. As they collide, the blue skater can not move forward because he is being pushed back by the gray skater using an equal amount of force in the other direction. The forces balance each other out, therefore neither player moves forward in the direction they are heading in.
