According to legend, there were 2 boys named Romulus and Remus, the sons of Rhea Silvus. At the same time there was the king Numitor and his brother, Amulius, who desperately wanted the throne. To make sure he got the throne, he threw the king’s grandkids(Romulus and Remus) into the Tiber River.
Amulius hoped that the two boys would drown, but luckily for the boys there was a she-wolf that was nearby who saved them and took care of them.
“If they drown I can finally be king! MUAHAHAHAHA!!!”
Later Romulus and Remus were found by a shepherd named Faustusus and he took care of them, and the boys later found out their true identity. After this realization they planned to kill Amulius.
Romulus and Remus killed Amulius and now wanted to create their own city, but they could not agree where to build it on. Remus wanted to build it on Aventine Hill, but Romulus wanted to build it on Palatine Hill. The boys could not agree so they ended up each building their own city.
One day Remus jumped over Romulus’s wall to prove that his is weak. In anger, Romulus killed Remus and from then on he allowwed nobody to ever invade his city, Rome. Romulus brought runaway slaves, criminals, and women from the Sabine tribe to use as wives.
And in 753BC, Romulus became the first king of Rome.....
