Storyboard Text

  • Son … Is it gone? Son, I gave you sixty-five hundred dollars. Is it gone? All of it?Beneatha’s money too?
  • Man … I trusted you … Man, I put my life in your hands …
  • But did you earn it? Would you have had it at all if your father had not died?
  •  It belonged to all of us.
  • I look at you and I see the final triumph of stupidity in the world!
  • *searching for white paper*
  • Wilson was just told that all the money that Mama gave him plus Beneatha's  school money was taken and ran off with.
  • ’ll strap my baby on my back if I have to and scrub all the floors in America and wash all the sheets in America if I have to—but we got to MOVE! We got to get OUT OF HERE!!
  • No—I sees things differently now
  • An hour later, Asagai comes to help them pack and finds Beneatha questioning her choice of becoming a doctor. Asagai becomes upset by this and gives her a lecture.
  • He’s no brother of mine.
  •  Grandmama—the moving men are downstairs! The truck just pulled up.
  • Walter storms out of his room to go find Mr. Lindner to get money  from a previous offer, but not before Beneatha got her few words in.
  • We have decided to move into our house because my father—my father—he earned it for us brick by brick.
  •  I take it then—that you have decided to occupy ….
  • After Walter leaves Mama comes out and tells Beneatha and Ruth that they're not moving into the house. Ruth becomes upset and protests the idea.
  • While Walter waits for Mr. Lindner, his son came home and spoke to Mama when just in time Mr. Lindner enters the scene to offer his money.
  • Unexpectedly, Walter refused the offer because he  had a realization while looking at his son that  this wasn't the right choice.
