  • Long Term Causes of French Revolution
  • Estates General
  • Tennis Court Oath
  • One of the Long Term causes were that the Third Estate was not being treated fair and they were not being paid well. They had to pay taxes and the prices for food and supplies were going up by a lot.
  • Storming of the Bastille
  • The purpose of the Estates General was to basically the back up. When the powerful classes started to get angry. The significance of it was basically to give nobles their privileges.
  • Revolution Begins
  • The Third Estate was going to have secret meeting. The kind eventually found out about this and had locked the building and sent some guards to make sure they wouldn't get in. That didn't stop them. The people ended up going to an indoor tennis court and they swore on the Tennis Court Oath.
  • The Parisians were outside the Bastille. The commander refused to let them in and he opened fire. The people killed the commander and other guards and this day represents the abuse of the monarchy. This day is celebrated and is known as their national independence day.
  • The Revolution began because the First and Second Estate were basically being jerks. The Third Estate got the worst out of it. They were being showered with all these taxes they needed to pay. Also the prices went up for everything. As the kind kept adding more and more things the tension kept rising.
