  • Lennie and George sit by a fire eating beans and talking about their dream. As they are talking about their dream a snake glides by on the water. This symbols evil and foreshadows their future may not end well.
  •
  • Carlson is seen shooting Candy's dog. Candy's dog was very old and very sick, it could barely take care of itself.  Carlson convinces Candy to let him end the dogs misery. The dog is used as symbolism as Lennie in the story. Both can not take care of themselves. Therefore this foreshadows that Lennie may end up like the dog as well.

  • When Curley's wife lets Lennie touch her hair he gets a little carried away and doesn't let go. He ends up snapping her neck, killing her. Lennie also killed a puppy by petting it too hard. When Lennie realizes what he did he runs off to the brush to wait for George. This scene shows how dangerous Lennie can be. When Lennie is angry he gets very aggressive and can't control himself.
  •
  • When George finds out what Lennie does he goes to the brush to look for him. Beofre he leaves, he grabs a gun. When George finds Lennie, he talks to them baout their dream. In the middle of his story telling, George shots Lennie in the back of the head killing him instantly. As he shoots Lennie a bird eats the water snake. This symbols how George killed evil when he shot Lennie. Lennie was a threat to society and he had to do what was right.
