Storyboard Text

  • Mr. White and his son, Herbert, are playing a game of chess While Mrs. White was cooking. It's the early 1900s where the White family lives in their little house. 
  • Exposition
  • In the midst of their game of chess, someone knocks at the door. It was Sergeant Major Morris. He was there to show the White family the monkey's paw and to tell them that is would grant three wishes to three people. Then he warned the family and tried to burn it but they wouldn't let him.
  • Rising Action
  • While Mr. White and Herbert were talking to Sergeant Major, Mrs. White got in to the conversation. The White family had high doubts that the paw was magical, but they tried it out and made a wish anyway.
  • Conflict
  • After Herbert died from the family's first wish, Mrs. White forces Mr. White to wish Herbert back to life. A little while after he does, there are knocks on the door.
  • Climax
  • Mr. White is terrified about the knocking on the door. He frantically looked for the monkey's paw so he could wish the knocking away. When he finally found the paw, he made the wish and the knocking stopped.
  • Falling Action
  • After the knocking stopped Mrs. White opened the door and searched for her son but nothing was there. Mrs. White was in tears as she went back in the house.
  • Resolution
