This story is based on Spaplem in the 1960. During this time people were very reserved. There wasn't a lot of scientific advances, this caused that sickneses couldn't be explained like a reason for things happening. People also believed very firmly that they were the ones that had the power to change where they lived.
Introducing the characters: Rebbeca Nurse and Ann Putnam
In this scene John proctor acted like a very manipulative person, specifically because by the way Abigail was speking of their past interactions, interactions where John Proctor Showed a lot of passionate emotions towards her and now was so cold towards her. Abigail, on the contrary seems to be very pasionate and emotional. This can be seen by the way she acts so emotional towards John and basically begs him to stay with her.
