  • We are introduced to the narrator and the old man. We start to know the relationship between he old man and the narrator
  • The Exposition
  • Initial Incident
  • The narrator decides on killing the old man because of his "Evil Eye" or his "Vulture Eye" that makes his blood run cold
  • I think it's his eye! Yes, it is this Evil Eye of his!
  • Rising Action
  • For Sven nights in a row, he would enter the old man's room at midnight and put a dark lantern in his room. He would then undue the lantern, just so much that a single ray fell upon the vulture eye
  • On the eight night, the narrator jumped into the old mans room and pulled the heavy bed over the old man, and killed him
  • Climax
  • Falling Action
  • The police arrive at his door due to a disturbance call. The narrator answers the officers questions and chated about familiar things. The narrator starts to hear the old man's heart beat beneath the floor boards
  • Im detective Landon and this is detective Scott
  • What is that noise?
  • The narrator convinces himself that everybody can hear the old man's heart beat. The narrator then breaks down and confesses everything to the police
  • Resolution
  • “Villains!”, “dissemble no more! I admit the deed!"
