The theme of this book is that If you fail once, try again.
This is the theme because when the first horse died, Jody's father got him another one.
I predict that something will happen that will make Jody cling on to his new horse. More specifically I think that Jody's father will somehow die.
While I was reading I made the prediction that the first horse would pass away when he had first gotten sick
The two main conflicts so far have been Man vs Nature and Man vs. Self
Man vs. Nature comes into play when staying out in the rain and getting sick causes to the horse to die. Jody is mad at himself for letting Billy Buck leave him out all day, so that is a sign of Man vs. Self
Billy Buck was one of my favorite characters because he is helpful and always looks on the bright side.
Billy Buck always offered to help Jody with his horse and he helped deliver the second one when it was born.
I think John Steinbeck wrote this book to talk about an experience had had as a child, and to teach a lesson on never giving up
People could relate to this book if you have ever lived on a farm or owned farm animals
