Genetic Variation: The many types of DNA sequences that organisms carry in their genes. It gives organisms their looks and their physical adaptations.
Overproduction : Seals dont overproduce since they have a good chance of survival when they are born. On average, female seals only have one pup per year.
The Struggle for Existence: Surviving is very hard because of predators like polar bears or orcas. White seals have a better chance of surviving because their white coating can blend in with the snow and the ice.
Diffrential Survival: Seals have evolved in many ways over the years. They went from just land animals to getting flippers in order to escape from predators faster.
Reproduction: On average seals will have one pup a year. Pups nurse for about 4 to 6 weeks. They begin to go in water once their water proof coat grows in which takes about a month.
Changes in the Gene Pool: Over generations gene pools change. This means that it can change the offspring colors or adaptations. This can be caused by gene mutations
