  • Hello and welcome to Australia. One large part of Australia is the Outback. It is located in South Australia and takes up 70%of Australia. The Outback is 600,000 acres or 9,400 square miles. Only 3% of the population lives in the Outback.
  • The Aboriginal people of Australia have the oldest culture on Earth. The Aboriginal people arrived in Australia by boat over 50,000 years ago. Some time later Europe came and colonized Australia in 1720.
  • The Great Barrier Reef is off the coast of Queensland. It is the largest living thing on Earth. You can even see it from outer space. Many different types of animals call this their home. The climate in Australia is really dry.

  • The Australian  culture comes from Britain and the Aboriginal people. English, Chinese, Arabic, Vietnamese and Italian are the most common languages. 52% of the population are Christians. People in Australia also tend to have a open minded sense of humor.
  • there are only 400,000 Aboriginal people in Australia which is about 2% of the population. Telling storys,singing songs, dancing, drawing pictures and playing the didgeridoo are major parts of this culture
