Inwards penitence must be accompanied with a suitable change in lifestyle. 4. Sin will always remain until we enter Heaven. 5. The pope must act according to canon law. 6. Only God can forgive - the pope can only reassure people that God will do this.

The 95 Theses were criticisms of how the Church worked. Luther put 95 Theses on Church door and sent them to the Church leaders. This made the Catholic Church angry.
1555 - Peace of Augsburg
Luther refused to take back teachings. He was forbidden to print or sell writings but he did anyways. He was then labeled a heretic in 1521. Leo X decided that Luther should be excommunicated and he was in 1521.
During the Peasants War Luther took the rulers side and the peasants were betrayed. The peasants stuck with Catholicism.
The Peace of Augsburg allowed princes to choose the religion of their land. The majority of princes chose Lutheran.
At last! I now get a choice. I think that the religion of our land should be Lutheran!
