One by one, the townsfolk get called up to the box too draw a slip, but they do not open it until everyone has a slip. Tessie nudges Bill Hutchenson to get up there and draw, not knowing what will happen.
Everyone finds out that Bill Hutchenson has the black dot.
Not everything is just how it seems to be!! also, our conflict is person vs society.
The Hutchenson Family draws from the box again, and Tessie "wins" by drawing the slip with the black dot.
