Actually, I can because I got permission from the barber.
The Kids Meet the Painter Lady
Hey lady you cant paint our wall!
Why was that lady painting our wall, Lou?
The Mom Meets the Painter Lady
This is why I live in the city.
You better shut your mouth or I will shut it for you missy!
The narrator and his brother Lou see a strange lady painting their wall. They tell her that she doesn't have the right to mess with there wall but she tells them that she got permission from the barber.
Man you must really like painting bud.
As the narrator and Lou walk the school they try to figure out why the painter lady was painting their wall. They have no idea why she is but they do know that they don't want her to since they carved there neighbor Jimmy Lions name into it after he died in the Vietnam War.
The painter lady goes to a restaurant that the narrator's mom owns for a break. She starts asking the mom a bunch of questions and the mom gets really mad at her. The kids are in the back laughing as the mom gets mad at the painter lady.
Dont judge a situation before you know what is really going on
I believe that the theme of the war of the wall is to never judge a situation before you know what is really going on. The narrator got mad at the painter lady before he realized that she was honoring Jimmy Lions.
The kid decides to buy some spraypaint that he is going to use to mess up the painter lady's painting. He thinks that the man at the store is not very smart to think that he just likes painting.
He has no idea.
Wow, this is amazing and I am not going to ruin it.
The narrator and his Lou go home and find that the painting is amazing. They see that it has both of them on it and it also has Jimmy lions. They realize that the painting is for Jimmy Lions and to celebrate him.
