Scribes where writer in ancient Egyptian society. They where only men and were the only social class were a lower worker could become a scribe. They make records of things like grain, census, taxes, court cases, laws, and the # of soldiers. They had to memorize 700 hieroglyphics in scribe school and were beat in it of it starting at age 5, but if they made it though they will get well paid.
Artisans came after scribes in Egypt and they were mostly men. There was carpenters, jewelers, leather workers, metalworkers, painters, potters, sculptors, and weavers. And they did pretty much what's in their name, but the most important was a stone carver. Their houses had 3 rooms in it and the pharaoh would gather them to make tombs and temples. They were only occasionally honored and would usually starve.
The slaves were at the bottom of the social pyramid and they are also the largest class. They are unskilled laborers and they make living off of farming and building. They grow food for the kingdom and build monuments designed by artisans. They have houses with small furniture and paid their taxes in food. And since they were so poor they had little time for leisure.
