- Rosalind was approached by another scientist, James Watson, and he pleaded with her to let him help her with her DNA work. Watson claimed that she did not know how to read her own data, leading Rosalind to reject his offer.

- In 1958, Rosalind died of ovarian cancer, and was never alive to receive credit for her work.
