The chest of Silver represents Medo-Persia which reigned during 539 to 331 B.C. Medo-Persia was the second empire to have control. King Cyrus had invaded Babylon during Belshazzar's feast. Daniel interpreted writing on the wall, "מנא מנא תקל ופרסין" which was "MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN", meaning that God numbered the days of Babylon and they will come to an end, they have been weighed and have been found wanting and the kingdom will be divided between the Medes and the Persians
The legs of iron represent Rome. Rome conquered the Grecian empire and reigned as the kingdom in power from 168 B.C to 476 A.D. Rome then split into 10 kingdoms one, for each horn of the beast. Of the past, Rome reigned for one of the longest when compared to the other kingdoms.
