United Airlines Flight 175: a Boeing 767 being hijacked by Islamic Terrorists
After the attacks occurred, some victims had no way of contacting friends and family leaving them worried and hopeless.
I hope the others made it out! I need to let my family know I'm safe!
Do you mind me asking what your flashback was about?
Well...when I was rescued from the towers I had no idea if the rest of my coworkers were safe and I didn't have contact with my family. At the time I had no clue that this was an act of terrorism. The whole entire day was a blur.
...And when exactly did you realize it was an act of terrorism?
Once I made it home I saw the attacks on every headline of every news channel. I called all of my coworkers that were with me before I was rescued...none of them answered my call.
Well I am very sorry for the people you lost that day. My final question, do the attacks of September 11 still affect you to this day?
Absolutely. Not a day goes by where I don' t think about the citizens who lost their life on that horrific day. It has become a part of my life now and I have accepted that I must live with it. I visit a therapist twice a week to cope and talk to someone who understands the battle I live through everyday.
I appreciate all you have done for me sir. If you ever need someone to talk with, I am free anytime.
Thank you. I will stay in touch if you ever have additional questions you need to ask me. Goodbye for now.
