"Hi Mr Tushman, it's so nice to see you again." "This is my son, August."
"Hi, August." "It's a pleasure to meet you."
"So, your mum and dad have told me a lot about you
August and his mother arrive at Beecher Prep and standing at the front of the school is the principal himself Mr Tushman. August couldn't help but giggle as soon as he saw him because of all the jokes that his father had made.
"Well, that you like to read, your a great artist and your into science right?"
As soon as August saw Mr Tushman he realized that he looked very different to what he had originally thought. Mr Tushman was tall and thin. Old but not really old and he seemed nice.
"So, are you ready to take a tour?"
Mr Tushman immediately turned to August knelt down and began to talk. Unfortunately, August had a bad habit of mumbling.
"You mean we're doing that now?"
"Did you think we were going to the movies?"
Mr Tushman explains to August what his parents had previously told him about his hobbies including the fact that he likes science. Mr Tushman also tells August about the science elective that they have at Beecher Prep.
Once Mr Tushman has finished asking August about himself he decides to take August and his mother on a tour around the school.
August is a little worried about taking a tour especially because he did not realise that they would be doing so soon. Mr Tushman puts his hand out in front of August but instead August takes his mothers hand and as soon as he does his mother squeezes it almost as if to say sorry.
