Hello everyone and Good Morning! This is Cellular News coming at you from the studio. I am Frederick the plant cell and this is Lucia the Animal Cell. This morning we will be talking to you about the anatomy of an animal cell!
With this high tech microscope, I'm going to show you the contents of an animal cell like myself! Learning about the parts of a cell is essential for biology!
Animal cells do not have a cell wall unlike plant cells. The thin layer that encloses the cell is the membrane. It keeps the cell together and gives it its shape. It also controls what enters the cell.
The nucleus contains all the DNA in the form of chromosomes and what the cell does.
The substance outside the nucleus is called the cytosol. It contains many different substances, all of which are required for chemical reactions!
This has been Frederick the Plant Cell and Lucia the Animal Cell. Next week we have the anatomy of a Plant Cell, thank you and goodbye!
