Storyboard Text

  • The people of atherns are asked by the Ionians for help to be set free from the Persians. Which will soon cause a big war. 
  • After saving the Ionians by burning down the Persian city Athenians pull out of the battle and the Ionians keep fighting. This is known as the battle of Labe, which failed. 
  • Darius is still upset at Athens, so he sends ships and 40 thousand soldiers to attack. Athens asks Sparta for help when they heard they were going to be invaded. This was known as the Battle of Marathon. Sparta ends up showing up for Athens but they were two days late. Athens still managed to beat Persia.
  • 
  • King Xerxes, angrier than his father, sends 180 thousand soldiers and his navy. The Greeks only have seven thousand ready til they get more. The Greeks felt like they should flea Athens and that a wooden wall would preserve Athens. This is the Battle of Thermopylae.
  • While Xerxes army moves he also sends 800 ships to attack. Xerxes burned the place of Athens to the ground to get payback. The Battle of Salamis was won by Xerxes.
  • The last battle is Battle of Plateau. The Persians offer to restore Athens to its original state if they submit to the rule of Persia. Athens refused and went on to fight another battle joining forces with the greeks. Greek and Athens defeat the persians.
