Raising awareness about mental health is just the start, not the end. People struggling with any of the various mental illnesses can be any one around you from friends, family members, and co-workers. Untreated, mental illness can cause poor performance at school or work and increased risk of suicide. Being aware means that we are not only acknowledging that mental illness is important but we are talking about it and helping others who needs it.
