  • First: Begin with a question Second:  Form a hypothesis that is then tested through experimentation Third:  Analyze the data to reach a conclusion
  • Galileo was born February 15, 1564, in Itay. He was an older brother to Vincenzo Galilei who was a musician. Galileo quickly figured out how to improve the telescope and made his own three-powered spyglass. Galileo also mad a contribution to the science of motion.
  • Copernicus
  • Wait we aren't the center of the solar system?!! I have to share this!!
  • Newton was born on December 25, 1642. Newton was the only son to a local yeoman, who died 3 months before he was born. In 1669, Newton received his Master of Arts degree. After Hooke died Newton took over as the president of the Royal Society.

  • whFrancis Bacon was born on January 22, 1561. He had two older brothers and his father was the lord keeper. Bacon served as Lord Chancellor of England in 1618. He was also knighted in 1603 and he made 1st Viscount St. Alban.

  • Copernicus was born on February 19, 1473, in Toruń. He was the youngest of four children. Copernicus organized the Polish defense during the Siege of Allenstein. He also formulated the quantity theory of money.   
  • Conflict arose between scientific thought and traditional religious beliefs during this time. Theories and books where some of the main things that causes conflict. The church did not like the fact that the Bible was being questioned because science offered evidence and reason.
  • All the challenges to authority cause the Enlightenment to occur and they started to use reason to improve the government. During this time philosophers began to come up with ideas that challenged the unlimited governments and influenced limited governments.
