Caritas Australia is a Catholic organisation that Collectively and individually their claimed mission is to work to build a better world, especially for the poor and oppressed. It all started with just one man. From humble beginnings in Germany 1897, Lorenz Werthmann founded the first Caritas. In June 1964, Caritas began in Australia as the Catholic Overseas Relief Committee
This group promotes good living as they help the poor. Caritas organisations believe they can do more for the poor by working together. That’s why they work together as Caritas Internationalis to respond to disasters and conflicts, to protect the rights of the weak and to give poor communities the tools they need to build better lives.
Caritas Australia like Saint Vincent De Paul and the parable of the widow promotes good living as they each show that we should care for the poor.
The poor widow's offering
This scripture passage talks about how the poor widow who had basically nothing, gave all that she had as an offering at a temple. Jesus explains she gave much more than the rich did as she gave all that she had and the rich gave just a little bit of their money
The scripture promotes good living as it shows the poor widow not only giving to the poor but giving all that she had which really shows her dedication/ love.
