Water finally flows but the villagers are still disappointed. The water that flowed is brown and muddy so it is still unsanitary. "Watched the water spraying out of the borehole she frowned... water wasn't clear...It was full of mud."
Nya still has to walk to water. After the first site of water the village continues on with everyday life. Which means going back to their jobs and chores. "Excitement of seeing that spray of water the villagers went back to work."
Hello, I am Salva.
The villagers finally have clean water to drink. This will improve their health conditions positively. "The well was finally finished... A stream of water flowed from the pump...The water was delicious...It was cool and clear."
Nya finds out that they're building a school that girls and boys can go to. The closest school besides the one they are building in her village is half a day's walk. "'With the well here no one will have to go to the pond anymore'...'All the children,Papa? The girls too?' 'Yes Nya. Girls too.'"
Salva and Nya end up meeting and Nya didn't expect him to help out her village. This is because Salva is part of the Dinka tribe and Nya is part of the Nuer tribe. "Dep said 'You know he is Dinka?'...'Why would a Dinka bring water to us?'... 'What is your name?' 'I am Nya' I am happy to meet you Nya'...'My name is Salva.'"
