  • This illustration shows the part of the poem when the son is running at a race and the dad is cheering him on! The part of the poem that created this imagery for me was "At your final drive through the finish line, Did not my shout, Tell of the Triumphant ecstasy of victory...?" that had a couple elements of my illustration. The first is the dad shouting which I imagine when the poem said " Did Not my shout" This tell me that the dad is shouting or cheering the son on. the other part was when the son is thinking determined thoughts. I thought of this because of when the poem said, " At your final drive through the finish line" this tells that the son is determined and pushing himself to finish the race.
