  • Gandhi is thrown from a train in South Africa, because he was a colored man in first class, and he refused to give up his seat to a white man.
  • Gandhi walked for 24 days, in his most famous act of defiance, the salt march. Him, and 78 others walked 240 miles from Ahmedabad to Dandi, on the shore of the Arabian Sea.
  • Gandhi went on a hunger strikes to protest the violence between the Muslims and the Hindus.
