Battle of Monongahela

Battle of Monongahela

Storyboard Text

  • As the British walk through the dense woods, Washington thinks that maybe...
  • ...he should tell General Braddock about what he had witnessed before.
  • General, the Indians have a fighting style that may be superior to ours...
  • I've seen them do it, we might need to change tactic!
  • Nonsense! We have more than enough men to override the French.
  • Besides, you failed to kick them out, so just leave the tactics to me!
  • Perfect...
  • MEN!!! STAND YOUR GROUND!!
  • However, Braddock should've listened to Washington, because before they can even arrive...
  • ...it was short lived for him.
  • The British lost, brutally lost. Braddock passed away, but Washington lead the remaining men in retreat. Along the way, they buried Braddock's body on their path so the Indians wouldn't take his possessions.
  • Despite the loss, Washington returned, with his men, and was considered a hero. Surprisingly, Washington wasn't hurt in any way during the battle, and no one knows why.
