This parable is about a very rich father and son, who take a day's trip to the countryside to experience farm life and how it compares to their lavish life. The boy discovers the real truth behind contentment in life. In the Kingdom of God, we must realize that by cherishing objects that have no lasting value we are not able to focus on the eternal gifts in store for us, therefore we should not obsess over wealth.
The Wealthy Father and Son
A father and son live a good and wealthy life.
Hey son, let's take a trip to the countryside for the day. What do you say bud?
Hm... sounds boring.
10 minutes later...
The father and son spent their entire day on this poor farmland. The father hoped to show his son the life of those who don't live such lavish lives like them. The dad asked his son what he sees.
I see they have 4 dogs and we only have one. We have a pool that reaches the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land and they have fields that go beyond our sight.
