Penelope, the queen of Ithaca, proposes an archery contest for her hand in marriage. Most of the suitors except Antinous and Eurymachus couldn't string the bow.

Odysseus reveals his true identity to two faithful servants: Eumaeus, the swineherd, and Philoetius, the cowherd. He did this by revealing a hunting scar.
Book 22: Death in the Great Hall
Odysseus participates in the archery contest and is able to win it. This shocks all of the suitors.
Odysseus starts killing the suitors. First he kills the ringleaders, Antinous and Eurymachus. His son gets the weapons for the two servants and themselves.
With the weapons in hand the four men finish off the suitors.
