The battle of Lexington and Concord
Don't fire unless fired upon
Breed's and Bunker Hill
Declaration of Independence
The British marched to Lexington and Concord to confiscate minutemen's weapons. In total 118 colonists killed or wounded, 250 British casualties. This is where "the shot heard round the world" was from.
Colonists should've won this battle because they made bunkers on Breeds hill which gave them the upper hand. British lost 1,000 people while colonists only lost 400. But colonists ran out of ammunition so, British ultimately won.
Thomas Jefferson was the main author of the declaration. The declaration stated all men possess unalienable rights like life liberty and pursuit of happiness. members include John Adams, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Robert Livingston, and Roger Sherman.
