  • The arrival of the White Folk
  • Manifest Destiny
  • We must movewest
  • The Native Americans were a peaceful bunch like the Potawatomi Nation. They loved their land and their lives and were self dependent.
  • Andrew Jackson as President
  • When the white folk arrived to the land they were nice to them and they lived in peace with the Native American having land to the north of the United States.
  • Trail of Tears
  • The United States was in many ways a cultural war as the desire of southerners to find more lands suitable for cotton cultivation would eventually invade land to the west in Native American regions.
  • A New Home
  • He became the president of the United States. When he became president he broke rules of the Constitution such as kicking the Native Americans off their land to achieve more resources and fertile land for cotton. He also gave Americans the Native houses.
  • The trail of tears was a bad time for the Native Americans. The United States forced approximately 60,000 Native Americans to areas to the west of the Mississippi River that had been designated as Indian Territory, and if the Native Americans refused to leave, they were shot and killed.
  • Indian removal was a forced migration in the 19th century whereby Native Americans were forced by the United States government to leave their ancestral homelands in the eastern United States to lands west of the Mississippi River, specifically to a designated Indian Territory (roughly, modern Oklahoma).
