  • founded steel bridge building companies and telegraphs where he used to get outsiders information to become a better businessman
  • Andrew Carnegie lived through 1835-1919
  • due to Carnegie paying very ow and having his workers pay cut  lead to lots of employee rebellions. the homestead strike was a rebellion where employees rebelled due to a pay cut and ended up with 10 people dead and the Military involved , this crippled the Carnegie company
  • five years later Andrew founded his own steel company and bought out production ,transportation,and competition.Andrew created a monopoly for his steel industry becoming the first billionaire

  • john d Rockefeller was born in 1839, and during his younger years he earned money by raising turkeys, selling candy and doing jobs through his neighborhood at the age of 16 john found work in ohio where he was a secretary for a company that bought and shipped grain. durring his stay john decided to enter the bunissness feild but not until 1859 until he stated to start his own
  • in 1863 john entered the oil industryfo the start of his oil industry he sold his oil for very cheap to out compete other oil companies until they would go out of business or in bankrupt which he would then buy most of the oil industries and then raise his pries.john would buy out competitors to create a monopoly and would pay extremely poor wages
  • john's later years funded a medical schools , the collage of Chicago donated half a billion dollars to various educational foundations and religious groups
