Bud was a homeless boy during the great deppretion that traveled to different places around the country looking for his father. Without parents he had to fend for himself and face the real world.
Bud started being tortured by the family's that took him in. The very first family he lived with locked him in a shed that had dead fish, blood and hornets. Bud ran away from that family .
Bud would walk along the road looking for his father because he missed the one train that would take him to his father in detroit. He now had no mode of transportation and had to go to his father.
Bud deals with an annoying stranger that makes him tell him who his father is and has to now confront his father injured and with great thinking that he actully is his father
Bud tells herman that his mother is angela janet caldwell and herman hearing this reveals himself to be hermans grandfather.
The theme of Bud, not Buddy is boldness. It is boldness because Bud even when he is quiet when he needs to be he will outstand and out power everyone else when he needs to.
