  • Looks he not like the King? Mark it, Horatio.
  • Confronting Hamlet
  • The apparition comes. I knew your father; these hands are not more like. 
  • The Ghost's History
  • Revenge his foul and most unnatural murder 
  • In the opening Act, Marcellus and Barnardo inform Horatio about the Ghost and instruct him to talk to the ghost. Only Scholars can talks to ghosts at this time and age. Horatio points out that the Ghost looked exactly like Hamlet Sr. and should warn Hamlet.

  • When the ghost refused to talk to Horatio, he thought it would be best to tell Hamlet that there is a ghost that looks exactly like his father and the ghost looks ready for war. Questionable Hamlet soon starts to believe them and is set out to meet the ghost and have a conversation with him. The three other men try to talk him into not going.

  • In scene four Act 1, the ghost tells Hamlet how he was murdered. He persuades Hamlet to get revenge on Claudius for stealing everything for him and killing him. He also tells Hamlet to not seek revenge on his mother, since karma will do its fair share
  • Guilty or not Guilty
  • I'll observe his looks; I'll tent to the quick.
  • Near the end of the act, Hamlet returns back to the men from encountering the ghost. He forces them to swear upon his sword to not reveal any of his new secrets. Hamlet also informs them that he will start to act in unusual ways around the castle. 
  • At the end of Act 2 in scene 4, Hamlets reaches out to one of the actors as they are leaving and acts them to play "The Murder of Gonzago" and if they could include some of Hamlet's own lines. He asks for his own lines to be included once Rosencrantz and Guildenstern have left. The actors agree to Hamlets whishes.
  • At the end of Act 2 in Hamlet's Soliloquy, his ultimate goal is to find enough passion and feeling to revenge his father. Once he finally works up the courage, Hamlet starts to question if the ghost was real and if what it said was true. to decide if Hamlet can trust the ghost he will watch Claudius's reaction to the play since it resembles their relationship and storyline.
