Storyboard Text

  • Oh no! I forgot that I needed to write an extended definition for my homework! I won't be able to finish it!
  • Don't worry Charlie we can go back to my house and I'll help you get it done.
  • I don't remember how to write an extended definition
  • Don't worry it's easy and only takes a few steps!
  • First you want to think of a word that you are interested about. Next, you want to brainstorm things about that word that gives it specific characteristics which will help you create your thesis statement or definition.
  • Once you have your thesis statement you can begin writing! Start with your introduction by introducing your word and giving your thesis statement. Next, you move to the body paragraph where you develop your definition by giving examples. Finally, in your conclusion you wrap up your extended definition by summarizing your main points.
  • Thanks so much Rebecca! You've made writing an extended definition sound so easy!
