  • I had the most interesting thought on the bus today. I found a way to illustrate how electrons move around the nucleus on a model. 
  •  Electrons move around the nucleus in a curved motion Electrons can be moved to a higher energy level if bumped by another electron or hit by a photon of light The original state of an electron is called the ground state. When an electron absorbs energy, it goes into the excited state. Then, when it releases energy, it goes back to the ground state.

After the electron is in the excited state, it releases energy. Once energy is released, it returns back to its original state (it’s ground state).
