  • I think you should take Ap World Hisotry
  • Me too
  • Ok
  • Welcome to Ap World Histroy
  • The Call: My parents strongly encouraging me to take Ap World History as they wanted me to get college credits and learn how to study while I was still a freshman in high school and not have to learn the hard way later on in my educational career. I was interested in taking Ap World History because I knew it would be a challenge that would be good for me. I also wanted to place myself in an environment with classmates that also wanted to challenge themselves and with classmates that are taking school serious and would be more reliable and responsible when it came to group projects.
  • NO TALKING! AP test in progress.
  • The Threshold: The threshold was the first day of that class, when I received study guides for the first time. When I entered the room for the first time I realized that I was not sure what I had got myself into and that I was entering the unknown. Upon receiving the study guides and textbook I felt extremely overwhelmed.
  • NO TALKING! AP test in progress.
  • The Challenges/Mentor help: My parents helped me focus and make time to study for the class. In Ap World History there were challenges around every corner. One of my challenges was studying for the tests and finding time for the study guides. When I faced these challenges, my mentors helped me work through them. My mentors throughout my hero’s journey were my parents. My parents helped me find time to do my study guides and study for the tests.
  • The Abyss: The abyss is when I took the test Ap test at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Until that time I was never so nervous for anything at any time in my life. I knew if I failed the test it would make the whole class seem like it was for nothing. I had prepared for the test more than I had for all the test of that year combined and I still felt unprepared, but I knew I had to do it no matter how unprepared I felt or how much I did not want to do it.
  • The Transformation: After taking the test I felt relieved as if I could do anything if I tried. It was like no matter how I did on the test I could accept any challenge anyone gave to me because I had made through the test that was 3 hours long and preserved through something I was unsure about my ability to do. At one moment I realized I could do anything if I wanted to and that I did not have to fear the challenge because I knew I could do it.
  • The Atonement: On July 7 at 8 a.m. I checked my computer and found out that I received a 3 out of 5 on the test, which was good enough to earn college credits. After I learned that I had earned a 3 on the test I felt at peace with myself and that a whole year’s worth of hard work and sacrifice was worth it. The Return: After going through Ap World History I have been able to accomplish whatever I try to do. My return was not a physical one but instead a mental one. My return was having the ability to use my newly developed skills such as time management and self-discipline that I had learned in Ap World History in my everyday life.
