  • Many of us Came to N America to find a better life under the British Crown.
  • Previously, we and Our mother country had defeated the French in a war, earning our mother country more land west of the mountains, though we were not allowed access to the land. 
  • Soon after the war ended, Parliament started passing several taxes to us. Some felt we should not be given these taxes without our voice heard. These people wanted us to have a say in government and used the phrase, "No taxation without Representation".
  • Eventually, one particular tax placed on tea angered several of us. At one point, A few of us Seized a British ship filled with several crates full of tea at The Boston Harbor, snuck on to the ship and dumped the crates into the water.
  • While there were those who rebelled against the crown, the Patriots, there were also some who stayed loyal. They were called the Loyalists.
  • Eventually, everyone got sick of the taxes. There was a growing unity amongst all thirteen of the colonies, and soon, we would head to battle....
