There army and navy was 4 times the size of the continental army. The colonies didn't even have a navy but that doesn't matter because they were home. Also, they were trained in everything that they needed to know to fight against the unexperienced military of the colonies.

The British army was known as one of the greatest and strongest countries at this time due to there great leader. One of there best leaders was chareles Cornwall and also Thomas Gage. Which are the reasons why they came close to winning this war.
No motivation to fight
I could care less.
Due to there great military leaders, they had a good and well-trained military. They knew how to march in formation and knew how to aim there muskets so they hit more people.
When they needed to send or receive something it took so long.
When the British came to America to fight this war they were most likely unfamiliar with the land. So this made it harder for them to attack the colonist and they had trouble getting to locations.
When they went to the colonies to go fight because their king wanted them so they didn't really care about winning. The only reason why these soldiers fought is that it was their job and how they made a living.
When the British were getting low on supplies or either needed to send a message back to Britain it could take a while. Which means that they weren't always ready for the war which was a big disadvantage.
