  • The 3 subatomic particles that make up an atom are protons, neutrons and electrons.
  • Subatomic Particles are particles or a group of particles, that happen to be smaller than an atom.
  • Today's Lesson:Subatomic Particles
  • Protons and neutrons can be found inside of the nucleus of an atom; however, on the other hand, electrons are found outside of the nucleus.
  • The nucleus is the center, also know as the core, of the atom.
  • Protons are positively charged particles, neutrons are neutral, and electrons are negatively charged.
  • Atomic Orbitals determine or estimate where exactly an electron may be found in an atom. In other words, it determines its approximate location.
