  • On Decemeber 24th, it's Christmas Eve, also known as Nonchebuena. Family and friends get together to eat.
  • December 25th is Christmas. Stores are closed and friends and family spend time with one another.
  • December 28th is the Day of the Holy Innocents and commemorates the day that King Heron ordered the slaying of children in Bethlehem. Masses are held.
  • It's New Year's Eve and legend says that eating 12 grapes during the chimes announcing the New Year will have good luck.
  • January 6 is Three King's Day,or Dia de Reyes. Children will leave cut crass or hay beneath the Christmas tree as a gift to camels. Gifts are left for the children and throughout the day the Governor's Mansion is open to the public.
