Storyboard Text

  •                   Jonas
  • The author portrays Jonas as a young, 12 year old boy, who's a big help with elders in the community.
  • "I knew that she wouldn't. And I think I knew that she shouldn't. But I wanted it so terribly. I could feel the wanting all through me."
  • Jonas had light eyes, different from the rest. He had light hair as well. Knowing that no one could see color, we don't know what color his clothes were. But he dressed simple.
  • My feelings towards Jonas are that he's smart for making the decision of leaving the community.
  • Dad
  • The author portrays Jonas's dad to be a caring person, but he kills babies but doesn't realize that he is.
  • "Bye-bye, little guy."
  •  Jonas's dad is a nurse and he has the release assignment. He has dark hair and dark eyes. Also dresses simple. His work clothes are nurse scrubs.
  • My feelings towards Jonas's dad is that he can be a nice, caring person, but his job doing release has him brainwashed and he's clueless of what he's doing to people.
  • The Giver
  • The author portrays the Giver as a very special person that cannot be replaced. And always knows what's best.
  • "This job has aged me. I know I look as if I should be scheduled for release very soon. But actually I have a good deal of time left."
  • The Giver has a beard, he's older, with wrinkled eyes. He wears a long robe as his clothes.
  • I think that the Giver is a very wise man who knows what's best for people, especially Jonas.
  • Gabriel
  • "Plane, plane!"
  • Gabriel s about a year old. He is different like Jonas with his "different" light eyes.
  • I don't have many feelings towards Gabriel since he's so young and doesn't do much. But he doesn't deserve to be released.
  • Lily
  • "I think newchildren are so cute."
  • Lily wears ribbons in her hair with braids, she's about 8 years old, she wears a jacket to show she's independent
  • Rosemary
  • "She kissed my cheek."
  • The Giver described his daughter to be about 12 years old, have luminous eyes, beautiful, caring, and kind.
  • The author doesn't really talk about Gabriel that much, but we just know he's supposed to be released soon.
  • The author sees Lily the way I do, mature and ambitious for life.
  • I see Lily as a mature little girl who's very curious and ambitious to become an adult and live in the "real world".
  • The author portrays Rosemary as a, used to be happy child, to now a sad and suicidal kid.
  • I think Rosemary is very sweet and cares for her father but really doesn't want to live in that community any longer.
