May I have your attention please? Whenever the instruments sound, everyone is commanded to bow down to this monument that I have made. Anyone who disobeys this command shall be put to death.
Jews Refuse to Obey the Command
I don't think I need to reply to this. Our G-d can save us from the fiery furnace and your powers. In deed, we do refuse to worship that statue.
Are you sure that you guys can't worship my god or worship my golden statue?
Nevuchadnezzar Realizes How Powerful Hashem is
Wow! I never knew how powerful their G-d could be. Anyone who embarrasses Him in any way shall immediately be excecuted.
King Nebuchadnezzar creates a golden monument in the plain Dura in the province of Babylon. He sends out a message to all of his staff for everyone to bow down to the golden statue whenever the instruments sound, and that anyone who refuses to do so, shall be thrown into the fiery furnace.
When Nevuchadnezzar found out that Shadrach (Chanania), Meshach (Mishael), and Abed-nego (Azaria) refused to obey this command, he ordered them to come speak with him. While they were there, he asked them why they couldn't worship his god (golden statue) and who their one and only G-d is.
When Nevuchadnezzar realized that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego didn't get damaged in the fiery furnace, he told them to come out. He then realizes how mighty and powerful Hashem really is. Therefore, he gives a speech about it.
