Ko, our main character, is taught a very important trait, which is how to hunt. This takes place in a flashback and it shows that he has been a good handler of guns since he was young. Which brought him to enlist in the army.
This scene happens during the flashback as well, and it shows how Ko has learned to stand up for himself and work the tractor to move it creates a great example of how he learned to solve his problems and not rely on people, like his father has taught him.
You must work this tractor and stand up for yourself son.
This scene displays the first time Meyer(ko) has been interested in joining the army. He witnesses this stand for enlisting in the army at his high school. He encounters two men from the actual military that taunt him continuously making remarks about him joining the army. This is significant due to the fact that Meyer proved them wrong and did in fact enlist into the army.
Hey, you gotta be big for the army, you ain´t strong enough, and you have to be independent.
You´d never make it!
Join the Army!
This scene depicts the goodbye of Meyer and his family before he heads off to boot camp. He feels as is if his family will miss him and is heartwarming. He also believed the goodbye was somber. this scene is important due to the first steps he takes for the army, and how he started.
Do good son, i love you, and I´ll miss you . Be careful.
I love you dad.
Hey son, don´t piss of the generals.
This is a very important scene because it marks one of the first most important things Meyer does in Afghanistan, He is a professional sniper at this point and spies on terrorists who have interrupted their team´s search.
