I opened my eyes and stared at the top of my tent. I didn't hear anyone outside so I unzipped my tent and crawled out. Nobody was there, not even the workers, but all of the tents and other supplies were there. I was so confused. Would I ever see my parents again? What about my brother? I was so spooked, but I was determined to find them.
I went into my tent to change out of my pajamas and into jeans and a sweater. I slid into my converse and packed some food, I tried to think of a reason for why everyone is missing but nothing came to mind. So I set off looking for them. I thought I was crazy, but then I saw them. The dead trees. There were so many of them so I followed them to a huge cave. I started walking back until I heard screams of fear.
I stopped, turned around, and froze. I was frozen and terrified. I had just heard my mother. She was in that cave, I had to save her. I ran, I ran as fast as I could into the big dark den without hesitation. My mom was in there and she needed me. I stopped in the middle of a dark room. It was pitch black and I couldn't see a thing. I took my phone from my back pocket and turned on the flashlight.
I looked around at the stone walls. I walked over and gently grazed my hand across the wall. There was a huge patch of this sticky, black goo. I stuck my hand in the goo without thinking and it went through. I held my breath and crawled through. There they were, locked in a cell screaming as loud as fireworks.
I dashed over to the cell and started searching for a way to get them out. "Rachel help us please!" cried my mom. "I'm trying," I yelled. All of a sudden I heard a deep growl. A huge, masculine wolf jumped out of nowhere and bolted after me like I was it's next meal. I quickly grabbed the knife in my pocket and right when it jumped I drove the knife into the beast's chest. As the blood ran down I noticed a key tied to the wolf's neck. I tore it off and walked back to the cell
I unlocked the life sized cage and everyone got out safely. My parents, brother, and I hugged and we walked back to camp. "I'm so proud of you Rachel," my mom exclaimed, "you were so brave and saved u all." "Thanks mom I'm glad you're back," she her hands on my shoulder, smiled, and started shaking me. "Wake up Rachel!" She yelled. I was so confused until everything went black and I woke up.
