Storyboard Text
Shah Jahan overspent on two main things. This had both a positive, and negative impact.
Shah Jahan overspent on his army, and war equipment.
Shah Jahan also overspent on beautiful buildings. For example, the Taj Mahal.
Shah Jahan intended the Taj Mahal to be a palace for his wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
Mumtaz Mahal died during its construction, so it became her tomb. Shah Jahan was devastated.
Those plans were cast away as he was imprisoned by his son, Aurangzeb.
Shah Jahan wanted to build an identical black Taj Mahal across the river as his tomb.
The positive impact was that everyone could enjoy the buildings, and Shah Jahan could defend the empire well.
The negative impact was that he spent the money on his wants, and the money could've been used for his people's needs too.
Overall, Shah Jahan was a great leader of the Mughal Empire
