Oedipus is talking to Jocasta and realizes that he might have been the one who murdered Laius.

Oedipus did not believe the prophecy that he would kill his father & marry his mother.

Oedipus essentially curses the people of Thebes looking for Laius's murderer but in all reality, he was cursing himself.
Oedipus did not know his real parents and ended up killing his father and marrying his mother out of blindness but after figuring out that the prophecy was right he gained sight of the truth and gouged his eyes out making him physically blind.
