Mother had been sick for weeks. Ever since she came down with the fever she hasn't left her bed. She is always groaning and clearly ill. It seemed over the last few days she was regaining her strength, she was rolling around a lot more.
After much talk and consideration form doctors and grandfather and the ludingtons, me and grandfather are leaving the city we would travel to the ludingtons and stay with them until the fever subsides. It will be a very scary trip. I don't know how to think, if I stay I could get as sick as mother, but if I go will the doctors really take care of her. As grandfather walked me out he seemed so sure that everything would be ok but I still had butterflies in my stomach. When I was waiting for grandfather in the kitchen I was Surprised when grandfather came down the steps with his sword, musket and military uniform on.
As we stepped outside onto the front porch we saw a horse and carriage waiting for us to get in so they could take us to the ludingtons. In the front seat was the driver and a women holding a baby, in the back seat was just enough room for me grandfather and all our things. Once we were far from the town despite the fever the countryside still looked beautiful.
